The Voyager 1 mission, like that of Voyager 2, is considered one of the greatest successes of NASA and space travel in general. The probe still regularly sends data to Earth today. It is also the furthest human-built object from Earth and will retain this status for the foreseeable future. On 11 April 2023, Voyager 1 is approximately 159.51 astronomical units (AU) from the Sun, which is about 23.86 billion kilometres. Every year, the distance increases by about 3.6 AU (about 540 million km), which corresponds to a (radial) speed of about 61,000 km/h. Viewed from Earth, Voyager 1 is located in the constellation of the Serpent Bearer.
